‘The Nopiest Nope in Nopeland’: Mountain Biker Rides the Tiniest Sliver of Ridge in the Dolomites

“Out of all the nopes in Nopeland, this might be the nopiest nope of them all.” This fine quote comes from a person on Instagram who watched mountain biker Marco Bassot’s recent video of him riding a barely there ridge in the Italian Dolomites. She says what we’re all thinking: It’s the nopiest nope of them all. We’re also left with a lot of questions, like how? And why?

Basso is an Italian snowboarder and mountain biker who does some extreme things—sometimes in the snow and sometimes on a bike. This time, he’s way up on a frightfully narrow ridge somewhere in the Dolomite mountain range, and he’s riding a mountain bike.

The video is short, mercifully. It shows Basso riding the ridge with insane drops all around him. Then, he stops to enjoy the view. We never get to see how he turns around and goes back.

In his caption, Basso calls this “the most breathtaking ridge of the Dolomites.” He also adds: “No mistake allowed.” (You think??)

Watch a mountain biker ride the tiniest sliver of ridge in the Dolomites here:

After you pick your jaw back up from the floor, consider one of the top comments on the video, claiming it’s not real.

The nay-sayer says: “I think this is fake, it’s not real.”

The comment sparks quite a debate, with many people pointing out that the camera angle makes that ridge look more impossibly narrow than it likely is in real life.

While we do agree that the camera angle skews reality, it’s still the nopiest nope in Nopeland for us.
